Montgomery County is offering residents of Cabin Branch an excellent opportunity to upgrade their smaller recycling bins to a larger 35-gallon recycling cart with a secure lid. The larger carts are designed to provide more capacity for recyclable materials while helping keep neighborhoods cleaner and more organized.
Many residents have experienced overflowing bins on collection days, especially during busy weeks with extra cardboard, bottles, and containers. Open bins can also allow recyclables to blow into neighboring yards, streets, and common areas during windy weather. The new 35-gallon carts with lids help prevent litter, reduce cleanup, and improve the appearance of the community. Montgomery County notes that the covered carts are intended to help reduce the risk of litter on windy days while giving residents more room to recycle.
